Snow falls on Lower Mainland again

The white powder began falling late Sunday evening in many areas, especially the southern part of the region, and by early Monday morning had van cleef and arpels turquoise alhambra necklace replica once again turned much of the Lower Mainland into a winter wonderland. HandyDART is running essential services (renal and cancer appointments) in Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Surrey, White Rock, Delta and Langley. Five snow clearing collar drops were performed overnight with no issues. Snow and ice technicians continue to perform snow clearing activities and reload the cable collars for more drops as needed.

The Ministry of Transportation will continue to keep driver informed of any traffic control activities via Twitter, DriveBC and digital message signs.

According to ICBC, since the snow first hit last Monday there have been about 95 claims reported for vehicle damage due to snow and ice falling from the Alex Fraser Bridge, and about 50 claims related to the Port Mann Bridge.

ICBC spokesman Adam Grossman said some new claims came in over the weekend, but the vast majority of the claims are related to damage that took place last Monday.

BC Hydro says it's working to restore power to nearly 3,000 customers in Surrey and White Rock after a tree fell on the wires.

Last week, meteorologist Jonathan Bau said Metro Vancouver can expect a varied mix of rain and snow across the regionfor the next little while. Bau said Monday was expected to warm a little but anything that hasn't melted on Monday will likely "stick around for the next week into next weekend." The current forecast is for overnight lows to hover around the 10 degree mark, with highs of around 0.

"So that'll take us to about Friday," said Bau, who noted the last time the region saw temperatures this cold was most likely during the blizzard of 1996.

As for a white Christmas,MacDonald says that depends on the area.

Snow is falling this morning in the South Island and it's sticking in some areas, including the Malahat, Saanich Peninsula, West Shore and Sooke.
